Biography
Paolo E. Abarquez is one of the founding partners and is the managing partner of VAL Law.
Paolo is an expert in the field of real estate, property, and land registration with relevant experience dealing with government agencies on the matter. Paolo was the lead lawyer in securing land-use rights in a USD450 million 150 megawatt wind farm project. Paolo was also involved in several proceedings involving the titling, mortgage and release of real properties for the multi-million financing of a natural gas fired power plant. Paolo also handled numerous multi-million foreclosure proceedings for a major banking institution throughout the Philippines and was also involved in protecting the land rights of a PHP400 million property in Manila. Paolo regularly contributes to the online journal of lamudi.com.ph in his column Rocky Terrain to share his insights on real estate law in the Philippines.
Paolo also has extensive litigation experience in trial courts, appellate courts and administrative agencies. He is likewise responsible for litigation and dispute resolution matters for the Firm. Furthermore, Paolo serves as corporate secretary for a number of technology and start-up clients of the Firm.
Before founding VAL Law in 2017, Paolo was a Senior Associate of Puno & Puno Law Offices. Paolo is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 2009. He hails from Davao City, Philippines and comes from a family of lawyers.
